Nxt7a grew from a simple frustration: we collect extraordinary amounts of environmental information, yet turning it into timely, useful decisions remains difficult.
Mike Welling spent two years from 1998 collecting biodiversity data in Serra da Capivara National Park, Brazil, then nearly three decades building geospatial analytics and data platforms, including Hemisphere Digital. Nxt7a brings that field biology, geospatial engineering and data-platform experience together.
The Name
Seven Generations. One Shared Future.
Nxt7a draws inspiration from the principle of considering the consequences of our decisions across seven generations. For us, it means building practical tools that improve decisions now while taking the long view on biodiversity.

Nxt7a is in pilot with a biodiversity credit fund, a First Nations land council and an Indigenous forest-management programme. Each pilot runs on a real project with agreed outcomes and a review at the end.
